According to the Buddha's teachings in the story of Vesali, human beings will attract the protective power of the Three Jewels by reciting the Parittas with full faith and true practice.

Taking refuge in the Buddha and His teachings, Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh—the Abbot of Ba Vang Pagoda - taught His Sangha to do walking meditation around Ba Vang Pagoda reciting Ratana Sutra when another COVID-19 outbreak came back to Vietnam with complicated developments and implicit threats to our life.

At 3:30 am when people are sleeping, Monks of Ba Vang Pagoda start their walking meditation around Ba Vang Pagoda reciting Ratana Sutra to dedicate merit to the eradication of COVID-19. Due to Tropical Storm Sinlaku, pouring rain often comes unexpectedly through the night until dawn but this does not detract from the strong will of the Sangha. Amid the night, the images of Monks in orange clad robes, barefoot, are still peaceful and free. With an earnest mind, the Sangha prays for the elimination of the pandemic to bring a peaceful life.

After hours of continuous walking meditation in the rain, the Monks' sound of chanting Ratana Sutra echoes around Thanh Dang Mountain. Those impressions resemble the image of the Sangha in the Buddha's time, as demonstrated in the sutra. Those images show the strong will and belief of the Sangha in the protection of Ratana Sutra in the recent COVID-19 outbreak.

In the first outbreak of the novel coronavirus in Vietnam, Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh said, “Whoever on this Earth passes away is a big loss for his family and relatives. We are all humans, who live together on this Earth with humanity. As a Buddhist monk, I'm very moved by such a tragedy. And I have vowed to bring the best and the most beneficial things from the Buddha Dharma to all Buddhists as well as to everyone so that everyone can benefit from Buddhism.”
