Taking place from 22nd to 28th October, Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh's Dharma propagation in South Korea has attracted much attention and participation of numerous lay Buddhists and Buddhism admirers.
Naver, the most influential web portal and search engine in South Korea, published an article titled “A Vietnamese monk came to South Korea to teach Buddhism” stated:
“Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh aspired to propagate Buddhist values to the majority, make the Buddha's teachings accessible for expatriate Vietnamese as well as help them apply the law of cause and effect to live a positive moral life, and harmonize with the development and culture of the countries they live in. For that reason, during this Dharma propagation, Thay conducted Dharma preaching sessions and answered the participants' questions on different matters in their lives.
Especially, they had an opportunity to join the Buddhist initiation ritual (taking refuge in the Three Jewels), officially became lay Buddhists and undertook the five Buddhist precepts (fundamental moral conducts) to reap positive benefits for themselves, their families and society in general.
On this occasion, the monks went on alms round according to Buddhist traditions. This was an opportunity for everyone to admire Buddhist cultural traditions and make offerings to the monks to increase their blessings.
Besides, the article also mentioned Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh and the disciplined cultivation life of the monks and nuns at Ba Vang Pagoda as well as the growth of its expatriate Buddhist community in over 30 countries across the globe.
