Year End Dharma Gratitude Ceremony at Ba Vang Pagoda: Words of gratitude offered to the Buddha Dharma
“A year has passed, marked by numerous disasters such as catastrophic storms, devastating floods, raging fires, wars, etc., which has deepened our understanding of impermanence. Amid the anxiety and panic faced by humanity, the Buddha Dharma, as taught by Thay, has served as a guiding lighthouse, strengthening our minds to overcome life's challenges. Beyond this, we have also learned to support each other in overcoming obstacles, spreading love and care through charitable activities and social welfare, developing the spirit of Buddhism accompanying the nation, which made small but meaningful contributions to create a better world.”
On January 28, 2025, also the last day of the Lunar Year of the Dragon, lay Buddhists of Ba Vang Pagoda sincerely and respectfully offered words of gratitude to Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh. While a year may not be long compared to a human lifetime, it is still a precious period when we calm our minds, look back, and contemplate our journey of practicing the Dharma as well as performing Buddhist duties over the past year.
“The Buddha Dharma is the ultimate truth, noble and precious to all sentient beings. The teachings of the Blessed One are practical, to be seen and experienced, genuinely bringing great benefits to sentient beings and liberating them from suffering right in the present.”
In the ceremony, the Buddhists had an opportunity to listen to Thay's teachings in preparation for the new year. Together, they pledged to diligently learn and practice the Dharma to bring and spread positive and practical values of the Dharma to themselves and others.
