A Meaningful Day of Luu Nhan Chu High School at Ba Vang Pagoda
On 29 October, 2019 (the second day of the tenth month in Year of the Pig), more than 800 students from Luu Nhan Chu High School in Thai Nguyen province had a meaningful day at Ba Vang Pagoda. The students had the opportunity to participate in many interesting and meaningful activities with young Buddhists of the Pagoda, which warmed up the atmosphere and connected everyone.
Afterwards, the students attended the ritual of praying for peace and chanting Mangala Sutra under the guidance of Great Monks of Ba Vang Pagoda.
On this occasion, the students also had a precious opportunity to attend a Dharma talk by Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh - the Abbot of Ba Vang Pagoda. The topic “Cause and effect of childrens behavior to parents” was immensely impressive and amazing to the young people.
At the beginning of the talk, Thay stated that everything has its own cause, we call it “law of cause and effect”, which impacts on every aspect of our life. Thay said good causes would result in good effects. Therefore, we need to practise doing good deeds to get positive effects. Thay taught all children should show respect to their parents. Loving parents, taking care of them and making them happy are good causes for children to have good health, beauty, prestige and wealth. Otherwise, children who are undutiful to their parents will suffer from illness, ugliness, low prestige, and the karma of being reborn in a poor family.
Concluding the talk, Thay hoped that all the students would give up sowing bad seeds such as being truant, fighting, disrespecting parents, being disobedient and wasting parents money so that they will become obedient and filial children.
Hopefully, after the trip, beautiful and good seeds can flourish in every students mind, so that they will have more opportunities to approach the true Dharma and practise living a Buddhist life.
