Life release - valuing all living creatures and praying for a peaceful world
In the Dharmapada Sutra, the Buddha taught:
“All beings fear punishment,
All beings fear death.
Seeing this as they are,
kill not nor cause to kill.”
Taught about the value of being compassionate and fair to all beings' lives by Thay, the Buddhists of Ba Vang Pagoda have recently bought several sea animals and invited Thay and the monks to perform an animal release ritual at Bai Tu Long Bay, Quang Ninh province, Vietnam.
This auspicious act brings blessings of health and longevity for the participants, “eliminating illness and avoiding calamities,” according to the Medicine Buddha Sutra.
May all these wholesome minds resonate far and wide so that all can live in a world full of love, kindness, and support.

Sea creatures were bought randomly and released on the occasion of New Year.

Buddhists attentively participated in the rituals before releasing the animals into the sea.

Thay happily released the fish back to their habitat.

May these sea creatures not only find freedom and safety in this lifetime but also seek refuge in the Three Jewels in future lifetimes.

May these sea creatures not only find freedom and safety in this lifetime but also seek refuge in the Three Jewels in future lifetimes.

Goodbye, little fishes! Hope to see you in the Buddha's house next time.

This is also an occasion for Buddhists to cultivate their kindness and spread love to animals.

Hopefully, these released creatures will be in favorable connection with the Three Jewels in their next lives.

The New Year Buddhist trip has successfully ended.

May all the Buddhist participants be blessed with blessings, and peace of mind, and always strive towards good deeds.
