Commemorating the Parinirvana - dedicating our deepest devotion to the Compassionate Father
More than 2,500 years ago, on the full moon day of the second lunar month, the Buddha manifested his passing into Nirvana between the twin Sala trees, leaving behind boundless sorrow for all sentient beings.
Under the guidance of Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh, on the 14th day of the second lunar month (April 01, 2026), the monks, nuns, and lay Buddhists of Ba Vang Pagoda reverently offered a noble saffron robe and beautiful flowers to the golden Reclining Buddha statue with deep respect and profound gratitude. In that sacred atmosphere, Thay then led the Sangha and lay devotees to the stupa enshrining the Buddhas relics, sincerely paying homage and offering flowers to the World-Honored Ones relics.
“The World-Honored One descended in this world for the benefit of all sentient beings. In this lifetime, there was not a single moment that he did not devote to this supreme aspiration. In countless previous lives as well, he sacrificed his own blood, flesh, and even his life to seek the truth to rescue sentient beings. The passing of the World-Honored One into Nirvana is an irreplaceable loss for all beings. However, thanks to the illuminating light of his Dharma, sentient beings can still find the path to escape from the cycle of birth and death.”
May this auspicious deed inspire all Buddhists to be more diligent in practicing the Buddhas teachings and gradually gain achievements as “merit” flowers to respectfully offer to the Compassionate Father, in gratitude for his boundless grace.
Within the tranquil and solemn Ba Vang Pagoda, Thay, the Sangha, and lay Buddhists together proceeded to the Buddhas Relic Stupa to pay homage and contemplate the day when the Buddha entered Nirvana over 2,500 years ago
