A Dharma talk of Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh in Buddhagaya Bana Vihara, India
Accepting the request from the venerable monks of Buddhagaya Bana Vihara, Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh, accompanied by the monks and Buddhists of Ba Vang Pagoda, participated in the night Kathina weaving ceremony at Buddhagaya Bana Vihara on November 24, 2023. The ceremony saw the presence of revered monks from Bangladesh, India, Thailand, Australia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Tibet, and Laos.
Herein, Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh delivered a short Dharma talk about a verse in the Dhammapada for the monks and Buddhists present in the celebration.
“To avoid all evil
To cultivate good
And to cleanse one's mind
That is the teaching of all Buddhas.”
Thay encouraged the Buddhists to diligently practice good deeds as the Buddha taught to gain good merits.
Following the teachings of the Buddha and the guidance of Thay, the Buddhists conducted a good action right at the celebration. Specifically, they offered Atthaparikkhara as well as wove Kathina throughout the night to make offerings to the monks. Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh delightedly praised their enthusiastic devotion for the Three Jewels.

Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh gave a Dharma talk at the Kathina weaving ceremony.

Dr. Mahashweta Maharathi (Secretary of the Management Council of the Buddhagaya Bana Vihara - Mahabodhi Temple) respectfully offered Atthaparikkhara to Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh.

Ms Pham Thi Yen - Chairwoman of the Yellow Chrysanthemum Club of Ba Vang Pagoda, on behalf of the Buddhists, humbly expressed the request to the monks prior to offering Atthaparikkhara.

The ceremony was conducted in a solemn atmosphere with the participation and verification of monks from different countries.

Numerous Buddhists attended and attentively followed this special program.

The Kathina robe offering ceremony is an important event for Buddhists to make offerings to the Sangha after rain retreats. On this occasion, lay Buddhists prepared and wove Kathina robes throughout the night to make offerings to the monks as token of gratitude and respect.
