"It depends on how long you can sit. As long as your legs don't hurt too much, you can keep sitting. At least you can meditate for 15 minutes, then gradually increase the time to 20 or 30 minutes.
At Ba Vang Pagoda, everybody sits in meditation for one hour. Previously when I was at Da Lat monastery, I meditated for two hours. Many people meditated for five hours. The Buddha sat in meditation for 49 days without eating and drinking because he was familiar with it.
When you practice meditation well, your breath will become very soft. And if your mind is calm, you will even feel like there’s no breath."
