Thay's teaching at Gwanmun Temple, South Korea: How to overcome pressure in life
[Updates on Thay's Dharma propagation in Korea] Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh delivered his next Buddhist sermon about “How to overcome pressure in life” at Gwanmun Temple in Seoul, which attracted a large number of Buddhists as well as local officials, workers, and residents.
"I think Thay's teachings were very inspiring, helping me and other participants relieve stress and resolve our issues. I would like to send Thay my wishes for good health, and also my gratitude to him for traveling such a long distance to meet and deliver Buddhist teachings to us, the expatriate Buddhists and overseas students in South Korea," shared Tran Thi Thu Huyen, a Vietnamese student studying in South Korea.
Having been busy with his foreign Buddhist affairs scheduled earlier, Most Venerable Park Deok Su - abbot of Gwanmun Temple, was not able to welcome Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh and his delegation at the Temple. However, he also sent warm greetings and welcome to Thay and the monks. In this program, Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh representing the delegation presented some gifts to the representative of Gwanmun Temple, which included a statue of Buddhist King Tran Nhan Tong and two million won as a token of appreciation.
Hopefully, the unity and bond between South Korean and Vietnamese Buddhism will become stronger.

“Firstly, we must nurture our body,” taught Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh on how to relieve stress in life. “Secondly, we must nurture our mind by reducing our desire. Excessive desire causes worry and both of them make our minds suffer. Besides, worrying is different from thinking. Nowadays, people tend to worry a lot but think little. Worrying drains our energy and clouds our minds. Let yourself think instead of worrying.”

After a long time of anticipation, the expatriate Buddhists as well as Vietnamese overseas students and workers in South Korea were able to attend and listen to Thay Thich Truc Thai Minhs teachings right in the country.

The sermon took place in a solemn yet close atmosphere between the Buddhists residing far from their homeland and their esteemed Master.

Many Buddhists attended Thays teachings.

Being able to meet Thay in-person and listen to his teachings is the long-standing desire of expatriate Buddhists in South Korea.

Despite numerous challenges in a foreign land, many Buddhists have experienced positive changes in their life thanks to their faith in Buddhism and diligent practice under the instruction of Thay. Pham Thi Thuy is a typical example. Only after three days of her dedicated practice did her husband get a well-paying job, thus overcoming his recent unemployment in South Korea.

A representative of lay Buddhists at Gwanmun Temple received a gift from Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh.
