5 ways of life that bring happiness
1. If we always act and pretend to be good and kind, we will feel tired, insecure, and sorrowful. Break that facade and dare to be honest with ourselves and others, then our hearts will be lighter.
2. There is a saying that “No amount of humility is enough, a hint of arrogance is too much”. An arrogant person will rarely receive help from others and usually experience loneliness. Therefore, we should not adopt arrogant behaviors. Instead, cultivate humility. Being humble is always good and tremendously beneficial.
3. Upon seeing a person in distress, if we help them with conditional intent, thinking that we have to receive something in return, we are not worthy of being Buddhists. On the other hand, if we help others with sincerity and love, I believe that we will reap good karma.
4. If we do something wrong or make mistakes that lead people to curse and insult us, we should accept those reactions with good grace and correct our behaviors as well as cultivate ourselves to be better.
5. Happiness is not just about having money, but also about how we live our life. For example, in a meal, if everyone hurriedly eats for fear of food running out, that meal will not be good and tasty. In contrast, if everyone shares with one another, that meal will be more tasty. It is because of morality and human kindness. Happiness can be that simple!
