An Indian’s Dream to Meet Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh
Siddharth Kumar, a man from India, was hoping to meet Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh for some months. And his dream has been fulfilled.
The Department of International Communication (DIC) had a talk with Siddharth Kumar. He gladly told us about his dream to meet Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh, and expressed his joy of being able to pay homage to Thay.
"I was hoping to meet Him for some months. And today, like, my dream has been fulfilled. Im very pleased to meet Him. Some of the people go in the wrong way and Hes converting them to go in the right way by teaching about Buddhism, about Buddha. Mostly, people think that choosing better ways is very easy but going through a good way is very hard. If we do a little bit hard work, we can have good results. It is our tradition to touch the feet and take blessings from monks. The purest thing of someone is their feet and if we touch their feet, we take blessings from their heart. Like if we dont have legs, we cannot go anywhere. In our lives, our legs are very important. If we touch others feet by our legs, its not good behavior. Thats why we always touch the feet by our hands. You must have seen that some of the volunteers who were washing the feet of the monks for blessings. In India, mostly, we touch the feet of gurus (main monks). We take blessings by touching their feet. But, it was my honor that I can shake hands with Thay."
