Alms Round: 3 Days Before Buddha's Birthday Celebration

The practice of almsgiving is an ancient and noble tradition in Buddhism. It is one of the most important practices for Monks and Nuns to create spiritual bonds with sentient beings through alms round—seeking offerings from lay people.

Following Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh’s instructions to repay the debt of gratitude to the nation, Buddhists of Ba Vang Pagoda vowed to adopt a cultivation programme and requested permission to give alms to Monks and Nuns.

May 11, 2019 Quang Ninh, Vietnam - Besides a wide range of meaningful activities during the Buddha's birthday celebration, on the seventh day of the fourth month, Year of the Pig, Buddhists prepared food to offer to Monks and Nuns of Ba Vang Pagoda on the alms round. Giving alms has been a beautiful tradition as well as an important practice of every Buddhist. It is a precious practice not only during the celebration but also in daily practice. Whoever respectfully makes offerings to virtuous ones will attain lots of blessings.
