The Wishes of Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh
"I vowed to be a drop of pure water which helps people to quench their thirst, to calm down their minds and purify their hearts. I may be just a very small drop of water, but this is a drop of pure water that brings everybody purity and tranquility" - Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh.
Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh
Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh is a Buddhist Monk and a preacher of Vietnamese Buddhism in modern times. He is currently the abbot of Ba Vang Pagoda located in Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam. With His great compassion, Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh wishes to bring the miraculous benefits of the Buddha Dharma to everyone.
His aspiration is that the light of the Buddhas wisdom will be spread to everyone and that all sentient beings will become Buddhas in the future. Therefore, He built Ba Vang Pagoda as a destination for monks, nuns and Buddhists to have a place to learn and practise the Buddha's teachings with the following instructions: “Actualising Bodhicitta Conducting all meritorious deeds Transferring the merit to be reborn in the Pure Land. Proceeding to attain Nirvana."
The Wish To Be a Pure Drop of Water
“Before becoming a Monk, I was a lecturer at the National Economics University of Vietnam. I think it was predestined that I have been attached to the teaching career my whole life. Perhaps it was my inheritance from previous existences that from a very young age, I already had a fondness for the Buddha Dharma. And as I realised that the Buddha Dharma was truly noble and precious, I wished to spread the Dharmas light to everyone, which later inspired me to fully engage in the path of the Dharma. Especially after I had actualised Bodhicitta under the witness of Most Venerable Thich Thanh Tu, my Dharma Teacher, I could see the immense value of the Buddha Dharma. The actualising of Bodhicitta shook my heart. Since then, I knew that I had a mission towards everyone, so I vowed: "I vow to spread the light of the Buddha Dharma to all sentient beings so that every being will become Buddha."
My Dharma Teacher - Most Venerable Thich Thanh Tu had a vow to become a tonic that makes people healthy and alleviate their pain. So I vow to be a drop of pure water which helps people to quench their thirst, to calm down their minds and purify their hearts. I may be just a very small drop of water, but this is a drop of pure water that brings everybody purity and tranquility. That is what I vow to be!” - Thay Thich Truc Thai Minh—the Abbot Ba Vang Pagoda.
